Wow, what a second day in Tucson. It is amazing to be at place where there is so much fax expertise. It truly means fax is still mission critical to so many organizations. Today the bulk of the conversation was centered on compliance and security when dealing with faxes.
When demystifying compliance and security for your organization, you have to look within in order to create a privacy/compliance policy says Rebecca Herold, a document privacy expert. Rebecca looks at compliance basics, fax risks, safeguarding fax information and an organizations personnel resources in order to monitor compliance and privacy.
Rebecca’s presentation centered on the premise of understanding the legal requirements, such as regulations, state laws and organizations own privacy laws in order to create a standard within an organization. When it came to fax, a lot of interesting scenarios were mentioned. She spoke about the differences between stand-alone fax machines and fax servers. Her findings were indisputable, if your organization manages documents that are mission critical, are monitored by regulation, state laws, etc., you need you need a fax server.
The last presentation was about leveraging RightFax 10 with Google Apps and Office 365. With RightFax 10, organizations can now have an on-premise fax server with email in the cloud. Using a secure SMTP/POP3 connection, organizations can now leverage their RightFax system for easy emailing in the cloud. The integration is seamless and provides easy fax access to remote offices and small business.
